Willow Branches

Willow Branches

Willow branches are almost unique in nature due to their length and straightness. When on the tree they are soft and supple, but when harvested and dry they are moderately rigid staying upright when placed in a stand or vase adding height to arrangements or displays.

Dried willow branches in vases make a stunning and unusual decor piece where height is needed. Our Willow branches are supplied in two main varieties.

Contorted Willow retains the sidestems that branch from the main one, giving a "hairy" appearance due to the fineness of the side stems. They are available in natural finish in 100cm, 150cm and 200cm lengths.

Draghair Willow are "cleaner" individual sticks with less sideshoots. They tend to be straighter than the contorted willow stems, yet still have an interesting wavy shape. Draghair Willow is available from stock in natural, black or white finish, as well as gold or silver spray-painted finish.

Although the long slender shape of willow branches tend to lend themselves to vertical display, they can also be used in a number of other ways. Willow lends itself to being splayed outwards in a fan shape to create a visual feature on a large expanse of wall. Use it horizontally in bunches to give width to a feature, or use the 200cm long stems in bunches to create giant witches brooms for Halloween. It really is a very versatile wood, and whether you need just a few stems or a wagon-load, we can supply you.
